GOBI IBEX HUNT RAFFLE
Iowa FNAWS has teamed up with the Mongolian Outfitters Consortium and the Mongolian Wildlife Association, to offer this incredible opportunity for a chance to win a Gobi Ibex hunt in Mongolia.
This is a 9-Day hunt including two travel days from/to the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The Gobi Ibex is scattered through a number of separate mountain ranges in south and south-western Mongolia, which form the Gobi-Altai section of the great Altai mountain range. The population of Gobi Ibex is excellent and success rate is 100%. Trophies average 32” to 37” inches, however Ibex over 40” are not uncommon. Hunting season runs from July 15th-October 15th. Hunt can be taken in either 2026 or 2027.
During your hunt, your accommodations are in a comfortable traditional Mongolia Ger or yurt, or possibly in a comfortable tent. You will experience traditional Mongolian dishes, prepared by a local, on sight cook. Should you decide on not bringing a firearm, arrangements can be made to utilize one of the outfitter’s, which typically is a Snowy Mountain fitted with a Leupold scope. Hunting will be done via 4WD vehicles with the final stalk on foot. You will be hunting with local guides who know the terrain and habits of the Gobi Ibex. The services of an interpreter will also be present. Also included is the hunting license and permit, state veterinary certificate and field care of the trophy. Travel to/from Ulaanbaatar to hunting area cost approximately $200/day via 4WD, or if desired, domestic flights can be arranged for approx. $400 round trip.
Additional costs include overnight hotels/meals before and after the hunt in Ulaanbaatar, additional touring after the hunt if desired, and transportation, export/import fees of your trophy to its final destination, and rifle permit. Gratuities are not included, as well as insurance if desired.
The proceeds of this raffle will assist the Mongolian Outfitters Consortium and the Mongolian Wildlife Association to continue their endeavors towards conservation and research.
Offered by Mongolian Outfitters Consortium and Iowa Foundation for North American Wild Sheep.
Raffle tickets are $100 each with the drawing to be held on March 21st, 2026 at the Iowa Foundation for North American Wild Sheep (Iowa FNAWS) annual fundraiser at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel. Winner need not be present.
The winning ticket is fully transferrable by winner. The value of the hunt ($16,500) can also be used for an upgrade to a higher valued hunt offered by Mongolian Outfitters Consortium, such as any of the Argalis or other Ibexes.
